ART CAMP IN A BOX
This kit includes all you will need to have your own art camp. You have permission to copy the pages for group use. It provides materials for up to six children. After that it is $15.00 per child. When you decide to have your camp, try to get a professional artist to talk to your children. This can be a retired artist, a fabric artist, a mom who took art in college, a potter or sculptor, etc. The important thing is that they share how God has enriched and helped them reach thier goals using the talents God gave them. It is important they share their techniques and methods they use to produce their creations. Contact us for detailed project descriptions for the 12 hours.
It is important also to create a portfolio for your child. Everything they do in art camp should be signed and dated. You should choose to frame two pictures from the camp. You can get a mat frame at your local Wal-Mart for only a few dollars. If you don’t want to purchase a professional portfolio, you can create one using posterboard. Staple two pieces together. If you love scrapbooking, photograph their work and create a scrapbook. This can help in obtaining a scholarship or getting a job.
Finally, after the camp is over, schedule a showing for their work. You can even contact a local bank, library, etc. and tell them you would like to schedule an art show. All the work needs to be matted or framed and labeled. I’ve had students who have sold their work in this manor. Use the evaluating a work of art sheet with each project. Enjoy art camp!
